Silver Round Glasses (1996-2013)

The 1996 Silver Round Glasses were product #MGD and then changed to #MDG2. Grade A. Current item number is #F5047 and they are now $8.
The 1996 silver glasses are a perfect round shape and a bit larger circles than the current silver glasses. Both have the small black tips on the end that help the glasses to stay on the doll's face. The 1996 glasses have an arched bridge as you can see in my photos.
The new silver glasses have a more oval shape and are just a bit wider in over-all width. You can see Jess's eyebrows when she's wearing the new Silver Round Glasses. The new glasses have a straight bridge.
I have no trouble keeping either glasses on my dolls, so the decision to remove the bent ear frames from the original Molly glasses and replace it with the rubber tips was a good one.

The pictures of Jess wearing the glasses show the true color of the silver. I don't know what happened in the photos of the glasses by themselves. Both pair are thin metal frames with non-breakable plastic lenses.
