My Dad was a young man in the 1940's & overseas in France. His bed, which he brought for me when he married my mom, was similar in style. It had a padded headboard covered in a gray vinyl-like "fabric". As for Molly's, it's not my favorite either, especially the older wood version which fell apart easily because the headboard was only stapled to the base. The newer version, even though it's plastic, is much sturdier. The headboard is screwed on; lets hope AG replaced the screws with ones that are a tad longer & actually do work.
I think Addy's is my favorite bed next to Kit's. I have Addy's & I thought it would work for Laura Ingalls too.
Now if only all the AG beds would come with sheets, pillow/pillowcase & a blanket!

The new bed is much much sturdier; the headboard attaches to the bed via screws which may or may not be long enough. All you need to do is take the bed & screws to your local hardware store & have them find you some that are a tad longer.
I learned that at MCM; the ladies there said that was all that was wrong with the beds & they'd put in screws that fit.
As far as I'm concerned, the LOOK of both beds is the same though but I do prefer the plastic one. It should hold up to family cats or small dogs sleeping on it...but might not hold up to a small child stepping on it.

The bike is nice for display, but not so much for play value IMO. The handlebars usually don't stay straight, the seat can come off if you happen to pick the bike up by it & the horn usually doesn't work. Sometimes the light on the front fender doesn't work either. But, it is nice for display purposes.

The earlier beds are wooden but not the sturdiest piece of AG furniture. The headboard is just "stapled" to the bed.
The newer plastic version is much better; I hope they've fixed the problem of screws that are just a tad too short. I emailed them about it but don't know if they listened. If anyone has the new bed, rather than returning/exchanging it, take the bed & headboard to your local hardware store & get new screws. Try your choice first so you know you have the right one.
