Here's #49 in the dress:



I think it's really pretty!

This outfit doesn't seem to get much love, but I like it! Here is the lovely Zoe modeling it for you:



Shirt: The shirt is a bluish turquoise (bluer than the jumper) and has 3/4 length sleeves. The outfit I got has shorter sleeves than in the AG picture, but I actually like that because in the AG picture they look like an awkward length. At the bottom of one sleeve, there's a cluster of printed on flowers, and the bottom of the other sleeve has an American Girl logo. I would prefer flowers on both sleeves or not at all, but that's a teeny tiny complaint. My one issue with the shirt is that it fits weirdly around the armpits. It's like they made the sleeve holes a little too big, if that makes sense. I was worried the jumper wouldn't fit properly over it, but thankfully it's fine. Because of the armpit issue, the shirt may look a little odd when worn without the jumper. Not awful though. I will have to get a picture later!

Jumper: The color of the jumper is a pretty and rather unusual dark turquoise. The fabric is like a light corduroy and there are little clumps of 4 embroidered dots every inch. The bottom of the skirt falls right at the knees. No complaints at all with the jumper and I think it could be cute with other shirts.

Boots: The color is actually a bit off to me. They're a different shade than the jumper. However, they're reasonably cute anyway. I didn't think I would like them because in the AG picture they look crinkled, but they don't really fit that way. These shoes velcro up the back, but you can get them on your doll without messing with the velcro if she isn't wearing socks or tights. I know this because at first I didn't realize they had velcro Boots fit on fine over thick tights.

So overall, yes, I quite like this outfit. The color is really nice and the style is good. Pretty, but not too frilly, and it seems a bit younger than a lot of the outfits AG offers right now, which I consider to be a good thing! It looks like something I may have worn back in the mid 1990s if it had full length sleeves. My one complaint other than the weird fit of the sleeves around the armpits is the lack of tights. The doll's legs look naked without tights! Light blue tights to match the shirt would have been great. I just put some white tights on my doll though and called it good. Oh and a little hair do dad of some sort would have been nice, too. Regardless, I give this a B+. The lack of tights and hair thing for the price combined with the odd fit of the shirt knocked it down a tad for me.

I got this shirt at AG Seattle in July of this year. It's very cute! The purple is pretty and the star is very shiny. It fits pretty nicely, too. Not much more to it than that. I would buy this shirt again. Here it is on Saffy with the skirt from the meet outfit and the Sporty Sandals:

I SO wish they made this robe in adult sizes! It's the fluffiest, softest robe I've ever felt. Don't even like pink but I'd wear it anyway, and it's adorable on this robe. The white loop decoration goes all the way around the bottom of the robe. Slippers are okay, they almost seem a tad too short and the doll's heel hangs off the back a little more than it should, but that's my only complaint. If you're like me you may balk at spending $50 for doll PJs and a bathrobe, but you really should spring for the set. They're so, so cute together and so cozy for Emily or modern dolls!

This dress is so, so cute! Even cuter in person. I was under the impression that the fabric of the main part of the dress was dark blue, but it's actually a very pretty purple. Right up my alley! The quality seems very good and the dress fits well. I really like the red tights though I wouldn't leave them on the doll for long because of staining risks, and as others have mentioned, you need to be careful putting the boots on/taking them off or they can snag the tights. The boots are okay, not my favorite, but nice enough. My mom said to be truly authentic they would have needed fringe, and I think that would have been adorable! Last of all, I personally really like the head scarf thing. It's so cute and looks great on dolls!

One quick note: I would pick this in person if possible. The vertical stripes on many of the dresses are rather tilted. If that bothers you (like it does me!), if you pick in person you can find one with straight stripes.

Here's the dress on my #49. I don't have Julie, but I bought it for my modern girls and it's so cute on them!

I bought this outfit as a Purchase with Purchase at AG Seattle. Was not on my list of things to buy so it was an impulse purchase, but I thought it was pretty cute and hoped it would fit my 18 inch girls since I don't have a Bitty Baby. My new #49 has claimed the dress. It looks so pretty on her, the brown snowflakes and bow look nice with her brown hair. The quality of the dress itself is very nice, the tights fit well, the shoes actually have hard soles and don't look too infantile, and the head band is cute even though like all AG head bands, it doesn't fit the best. If I could change anything, I would make the neckline a little higher cut and do something decorative with the plain short sleeves (or make it long sleeved!) and the neckline. Overall I recommend it though!



As you can see, the head band looks fine once you fiddle with it, and it stays on pretty well.

Here is Honey:



He was a gift so I didn't really pick him. He's cute enough, but looks like the love child of Snoopy and Woodstock, so I named him Woodstock He's been shuffled around as the pet of many of my dolls. Honey is honestly not my favorite of the pets, but I like him enough to keep him around! The quality is fine. Hard plastic body covered in fur, everything seems well attached. I wish he was bigger, he's super tiny for a Golden Retriever. I do not think he's worth the list price, you should only plunk down the money for him if you really, really like him! Any little stuffed doggie would do just as well as a pet for an AG doll.

I bought this outfit for Nellie and it's so adorable on her:



The fit is perfect and I'm crazy about the style. I'm particular about lace but quite like the lace on this dress. It does not seem excessively thin to me, though I certainly wouldn't have minded if it was lined! I could do without the little pink bows on the hips, but they're okay. The shoes are fine, not my favorite, but fine. The hair bow is kind of short and VERY wide, it looks huge on Nellie's head but is pretty cute! Seems like little girls back then wore giant hair bows anyway. The ribbon is thick, silky on both sides, and very nice. I do wish the outfit came with tights because Nellie looks pretty bear legged. Overall, this is one of my favorite historical outfits and I give it an A- (because it needs tights!).

My McKenna arrived today! Her new name is Miri though and her character is slightly different, but I won't go into that here.

I have to say McKenna is beautiful! She's just beautiful and very sweet looking. She does look a bit older than some of the other dolls to me, especially when her hair is in some hairstyles, but that's okay and some people probably specifically want that.



McKenna's wig is gorgeous. I love how it looks and think the unicorn is charming. As a kid I often wore my hair that way. The length of the wig is great and I really like how it turns under ever so slightly at the bottom. The curl is not as extreme as on many of the MyAGs, which seems more realistic to me. The hair itself is very silky but the hairs are not too fine, and it's easy to play with. Nice and thick, too and the V part does not interfere with hairstyles, you can just kind of make your own part on the top and it looks just fine.

It's true that the wig doesn't have short hairs in the back, but the wig cap is the same color as the hair and while I'd like short hairs, it doesn't bother me that much that she doesn't have them. Here's a picture of her hair from behind with the hair in the unicorn ponytail, her hair is so silky that you can hardly see where the hairs blend together:



The color is very lovely. In some pictures (and lighting!) she looks more blonde, and in others she looks more brunette. For my doll, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Literally. The hair on the back half of her head is darker and the hair on the front is lighter. This is a picture of her hair from the side:



You can see the color difference in the two halves. Not sure exactly what happened there and I wonder if all McKennas are like that. It looks like they ran out of hair partway through making the wig and the next batch of hair was a slightly different shade. It really isn't all that noticeable though when you braid her hair or just have it down because the hairs from both sides mix together, though I would prefer if her hair was all the same (the darker shade, ideally). Aside from that, her hair does have lovely highlights and all the strands are not the same shade. Overall I would call her hair golden brown. Very pretty.

As others have stated, McKenna does look a lot like Elizabeth. Her hair is a little darker and she doesn't have pin curls but other than that, they're basically the same. I wish AG had given her different colored eyes. The dark blue would have been stunning and would have set her apart a bit more.

As for the outfit, it's cute enough I guess. I may sell it because it doesn't do a lot for me, but I do like the little shoes with the grippy soles.



All in all, I give McKenna a solid B. She's lovely and sweet and a great choice if you don't have Elizabeth, but I would pass if you do. She would have received an A for me if her hair was all the same color and if she had a different color eyes. Freckles wouldn't have hurt either but I didn't deduct any points for that

Here is Julianna (my GT 19 with a new body) wearing the Frosty Party Outfit. It's the only modern outfit I've purchased from Mattel's AG. Not that I'm against buying them, this is just the first one that I really wanted so when it went on sale I snatched it up! I'm quite glad I did because it's so pretty.



Sweater: Very pretty. The sequins seem to be sewn on tightly. I wish it was a little looser and a little longer, and the neck on mine stands up a little weirdly.

Skirt: Love it! The fabric feels high quality and it's nice and full. The decoration around the bottom is so pretty and I like that it goes all the way around the skirt. It's actually a slip on skirt with a bit of elastic in the back. I fear it wouldn't fit over the butt of a non-Mattel doll because it's kind of tight, if anyone's really curious about it you can PM me and I'll try it on one. No complaints about the beautiful skirt.

Shoes: Cute! A little hard to get on but they shouldn't fall off. Nice detail.

Headband: Also cute! It stays on pretty well and doesn't look too goofy. The big tag is kind of annoying but no use complaining about that.

All in all, I quite like this outfit. It looks so lovely on sweet Julianna and I would have killed for an outfit like this when I was a kid. If I could change anything I would make the changes to the sweater I mentioned before and also I kind of feel this outfit should have tights. I have plenty of tights already so that's not a hard fix, though the shoes may be difficult to get on over the tights. I will post an update when I try.

There's a reason this girl is so popular! She's utterly gorgeous. My heart goes pitter patter when I look at her. Mine is named Rose Adele. I love the roundness of her cheeks, her sweet expression, her warm brown eyes, her skin tone, her brown hair, and the beautiful curls that I've twisted into sausage curls. I've only had her for a couple weeks (picked her on my first ever visit to an AG store, the one in Seattle specifically) but her hair isn't too hard to manage yet and I actually find it less intimidating than Kanani's hair because the curls are tighter and more compact. Her character is still a work in progress but she's going to be a historical. She looks especially beautiful in Addy's birthday dress (pictured below) and Addy's flower picking dress. I just love this doll! A+ from me!

I got this on eBay for really cheap and love it. It looks so cozy, like something I would have worn as a kid and would still happily wear now Not as fancy or pretty as many of the other PJ sets but it's still very cute and looks adorable with the non-AG bunny slippers I bought. I give it an A.

I do not care for this outfit. The little shoes are cute enough and the capris are okay but I dislike the design of the shirt and the graphic. The quality is okay I guess but the whole outfit is very boring to me. Two of my dolls have come in this outfit and I took if off both immediately, never to be put on another doll. It seems like it was made to be as inexpensive to produce as possible, unlike some of the earlier meet outfits that came with many pieces. Blah. I give it a C. Not so much for quality but because it's boring and too basic and not very attractive.

I bought this set back in March for Molly to use. This is one of those items that I would have been really upset over not buying before it retires! Everything in it is very cute and seems well made. The only things I would change are to unclump the cookies (grr!) and add a mixing bowl and spoon because how are ya gonna make cookies without those two things? Great other than that and at Christmas I will make the cookies for sure! I love baking so this set is so appealing. It seems like it could work for any time period from Samantha all the way through the present. I have Kit's glassware set too but not her party treats (which are now retired). I'm going to make a cake roll out of Sculpey and actually think the cake would look fine on the gold platter when combined with the glassware because the snowflakes look potentially kind of flowery and it seems like a decent number of old fashioned dishes have snowflakes on them even if not used solely for Christmas dishes.

My grade: B++ Knocked the grade down a bit because of clumped cookies and lack of mixing bowl and spoon when considering the price. Definitely worth buying though if you like to bake!
