This is a REALLY nice set. It has place settings for four dollies and everything is plastic so it is safe for younger girls or girls who are very clumsy to use. The set includes: 4 plates, 4 tumblers, 4 twisty straws (these REALLY work!!), 4 forks & spoons, 4 cloth napkins, Catsup & mustard and an Aluminum pitcher. Also included is the food needed for the party! 2 hamburgers with ketchup and mustard on one side and grill lines on the other, two buns, lettuce and pickles, 2 slices of watermelon, and 2 bags of chips! My set was pieced together from different ebay lots and is missing the pitcher and the ketchup and mustard bottles. Overall grade for playability, quality and design - A+

Oooh, this is one of my favorite American Girl Items! Baxter is a heavy little flocked, grey and white bunny who lives in a lovely red, wooden hutch. The hutch is made of real wood with metal screening realistically stapled on to the inside. The bottom is lined with "newspapers" as well as a permanent, printed bunch of carrots. Bunny fits inside beautifully. The set originally came with a purple bowl but since ours was purchased second hand we do not have it. My girls love taking Baxter in and out of his cage and having their dolls feed and hold him. I give this one an A+ and I think it is a shame that AG doesnt make this anymore. I would love to see more pets besides Licorice and Coconut.

1995 was the year AGoT was introduced. Her meet accessories included the following: Sunflower hat, AG pendant, Wallet purse, 3 pretend dollars, lunch tickets, Library card, Mini magazine, 10 Mini Grin Pins. The sunflower hat looks nice with the meet outfit, but I got tired of it quickly . The AG pendant is, of course, real metal and looks nice with the outfit (as well as others - my doll is still wearing hers), I LOVE LOVE LOVE the wallet purse. It has a clear little pocket that the library card fits into perfectly and a place for her dollar bills and lunch tickets. The Mini magazine is a cut out one that you have to put together. It has great play value, especially the purse. I think this is the best purse that AG has made. I give the set an A grade!

I just got this set the other day and I love it. I thought it was very well made and the ornaments are nicer than the ones for the christmas tree we have! I would give it better than a B!!

I got one of these the other day and I love the case. THe detail on the guitar is fabulous too, but I was a bit disappointed that it was made of plastic. I also didnt like the material that the strap was made out of and it would have been nice to have a couple of little guitar pics in with the strap!

I think this is one of my favorite items!! It is an exact replica of a Weber grill. It even says Weber on the handles! The grill is ALL metal. The handles on the side and top are made of wood. The top part of the grill is removable (so the dollies can easily clean it after their BBQ) and underneath is a pile of smoldering coal. The set originally came with a grill tool, which we do not have. I love this item...but where are the dolly sized can of lighter fluid and the dolly sized matches?

This set looks fabulous set up, but I honestly think it is the cheapest, chinciest (is that spelled right? Is it even a word?) set that was ever made! Ours was an ebay buy that arrived mostly broken. The top, white part of the table that holds the "glass" top was broken clear through and I still have not been successful at gluing it. I have it held together with tape. The chairs are also in somewhat rough shape and constantly come apart when we sit dolls in them. The upside to this is the fact that all of the pieces disassemble and/or fold down for easy storage. The table and chairs are made of plastic, the chairs have fabric seats. The large umbrella is nice. It opens and closes just like a real one and the top is made of a heavy duty fabric. My girls like it - but they scream every time the chairs fold up on them <G>. I give it a B for playability (when the pieces stay together!), but a D for quality and design. complete set with table setting Close up of chair

These are made of metal and are very simple. They are a "big" item but really do not take up much room. THey are easy to set up and take apart and store well. They come with two black and white striped mattresses and two black and whit striped pillows. Bedding was never made for these beds, instead you could unzip one of the black, doll sized sleeping bags that were manufactured the same year and make two comforters. The bed also has a ladder that can be moved around to different places on the bed. While not the prettiest set AG ever made, I think it has a lot of playability and is very easy to store. My girls love this bed and it sees a lot of sleeping dolls. Grade A for playability Grade B- for looks and quality. This bed seems kind of messy today. I guess the girls forgot to make it up after they got up for the day!

This set is fantastic and very realistic. It comes with a half circle activity table very typical of those seen in schools. It is made of the same materials the big tables are made of and has metal legs. (Our table did sustain some damage from its previous owner, possibly water damage, and the top part of the table has separated from the bottom leaving the leg kind of crooked. We have tried to fix it but have not been successful. ) The chairs are also exact replicas of the full sized versions. Made of heavy plastic and metal they appear very durable. (again, one of our chairs is cracked due to the previous owner but can still be played with). This set is played with a lot here. I plan on getting 3-4 more sets to use in setting up a school. I would give this set and overall grade of B+

This mini Mac computer is an exact replica right down to the switch on the back and the Apple logo on the front. The computer is made of plastic and takes 2 AAA batteries. When you flip the switch on the back of the PC/monitor you will hear a familiar little beep letting you know that the computer is "booting up." The screen will appear exactly like a Mac of its time would have complete with a little trash can in the lower right hand corner! Touch the keyboard to see your dolly's field trip report appear and you can even read it too!! Tap the mouse and make stars that will form the Big Dipper. This computer is FABULOUS. It even comes complete with a tiny little AG mousepad. One of AGs best accessories in my opinion. Grade A+.

This item does not take up a lot of room and is very realistic looking for its time. The chair is made of metal and vinyl/rubber for the seat. It fits the dolls well and really swivels and you can pretend to roll it but it does not have real wheels. The table/desk is made of heavy plastic and is not very fancy. It appears to be durable although I do not think it has the same PC quality as some of the other furniture does. As far as playability, it is one of my daughters' favorite things and they use it almost every day with their dolls. That could be due to the awesome little computer though that I will review in another thread. Overall Grade B.

This is a very large item comparable to a historical doll's trunk. It is designed almost exactly like a school locker would have been right down to the hole on the latch that will accept a small lock. Inside it seems spacious, but I was actually disappointed in how much it actually did hold (I expected a lot more). There are hooks on the back as well as the right and left side that will hold something. The hooks are not large so dont expect a lot. In the center, near the front there is a metal square hanger that can be used to hang hangers on with outfits. If you do hang more than a short jacket or two on this hanger it makes accessing the other items in the locker hard. There are two swing out drawers on the bottom that you can put small items into. They seem to fill up fast. You can also store items on top of the drawers and there is space in front of the drawers where I have some shoes. You do have to move the shoes though to get into the drawers. The locker originally came with some magnetic grin pins, a magnetic mailbox and banners you could color in. My locker is an ebay purchase and unfortunately did not come with any of those things. I think this item is cute, and if you have room or want a "school" set up for your dolls it is great. If you think you are going to use it as a trunk like I did, dont bother. I do plan on getting 2-3 more of them and lining them up in our "school" area and they will contain jackets, extra sneakers, back packs, text books and sports items. Overall grade B.

I won this book in an auction on ebay and it arrived today. I love it. It has to be one of the cutest book I have ever seen. You can feed baby a bottle, pat its back (burp), watch it kick its feet in the bathtub, powder its bottom, dress it, put it to bed, and play peek a boo. The book is well made in my opinion. The one I have has some lose tabs and the heart no longer plays music but for its age it is just perfect. It is beautifully illustrated and very interactive. I was told there are three versions of the book - caucasion (white), african american (black), and asian. From what I understand Pleasant T. Rowland wrote this book to help a new sibling learn to care for a new baby and that it was intended to be the center of the Our New Baby Collection. I just love it and would give it an A rating!

(this doll was retired/revised in 2013) The medium skin/brown eyes Bitty Baby is my least favorite. I do not like the color of her skin which I think looks like coffee with too much cream in it. She has the standard Bitty Head which is the same as the light skin/blonde and brunette dolls. Her hair is black and scuffs and scratches easily. I love Bitty Baby and would give all Bitties an A grade. This one just doesnt "do it" for me though. Bitty Baby is a moderately priced play doll that should be in every little girls collection. A doll that should last her a life time and be passed down to her own little girl (or boy).

(this doll was retired/revised in 2013) So far, this is my favorite of the Bitty Baby bunch. She has dark, chocolate colored skin and textured black hair. This is the only Bitty Baby that has the rough textured (plastic hair). So far, the top of her head has not scuffed at all with normal play like our other Bitties have. Bitty Baby currently comes in a short sleeved, lavendar play suit. I love this suit on her, expecially against her dark skin. The play suit is similar in design to all of those before it and closes in the back with velcro. I give this dolly an A. Every little girl needs a baby doll. Bitty Baby is moderately priced and should last a lifetime. Here is Pippi -

This set was introduced in 1991 and retired in 2001. After retirement, the quill pen and inkwell from this set were combined with the Windsor Writing Chair, and the price of that piece was raised. The set is associated with the book, Felicity Learns a Lesson.PC description: Mother taught Felicity to read the alphabet and the Lord's Prayer using the wooden hornbook. Her writing supplies include a quill pen, which she dipped in an inkwell that came from Holland. Felicity sewed paper together to make her copybook, used to practice writing properly. And when she got bored, she drew pictures of her horse, Penny! Pretend the shiny sander is filled with "punch" to sprinkle on her writing and dry up the ink blots.I recently aquired this set in a lot from Craigslist The set is comeplete. Grade: A I think this set is one of my favorites. I have the school supplies for all of the historical dolls and this is the only one that has writing in the book Felicity's copybook is made from paper that she sewed together. It is partially filled with her handwriting practice and even shows some ink smudges. There are also pictures that she drew of her horse Penny. Also included in the set is a "sander" (shaker) to shake onto the paper for ink smudges made from nice, heavy metal; a wooden hornbook featuring the alphabet and a prayer; and her ceramic inkwell and real feather quill pen. This set was introduced in 1992 and retired in 2003. It is associated with the book, Felicity Saves the Day.PC description: Felicity knew just how to help Ben when she got his desperate message. She gathered lavender and witch hazel in her gathering basket and ground them with a mortar and pestle to make a healing poultice for Ben's leg. When she learned that Father had placed a newspaper ad to track down Ben, she made a plan to help them escape. She rushed to Ben and gave him her pocketbook, with a map inside. Pocketbooks often contained important papers - Felicity's holds a letter from Elizabeth.I recently aquired this set in a Craigslist lot. The set is complete with the exception of the herb bunch that I replaced. Grade: A- (gathering basket feels delicate) This set is beautiful. The mortar is heavy metal and pestle is wood. The pocketbook is made of real leather and is very soft. Inside the pocket book there is a letter from Elizabeth, the newspaper ad that Felicity's father placed and a map that Felicity gives to Ben. (mod edit for photos)
