When I first saw this monkey jacket, I thought, "Holy snap, that it th' ugliest whatever that thing be I've ever seen." But gradually, it grew on me. ye see, anyone can love purple corduroy gauchos!
So about th' monkey jacket. th' top be bonny, and looks good wit' th' jeans that Jaundice Albright arrives in. th' gauchos be...tolerable. They actually look more like gauchos and less like a big ugly skirt like they did in th' premiere photos. But corduroy be just not my favorite material. Still, they look alright. th' boots be kind o' hard to get on, but not annoyingly frustrating or anything. It does not take more than a minute to push them on.
So aye, call it ugly if ye like, along wit' th' rest o' 1970s. But I like it. My mom also says that it's historically accurate, if that means anything to anyone. ...I don't think it does.
th' Jumper - A My favorite part o' th' whole monkey jacket. It's very soft and bonny, and feels bonny to touch.
th' Tights - B I dunno what everyone else's deal wit' these be, because my pair doesn't shed. Maybe it happens over time? Anyway, aye, they're kind o' tacky, but I like tacky stuff. Again, screams "Partridge family." Which...usually isn't a good thing...
th' Shoes - D Now here's something we can all agree on! th' shoes...suck. They're actually not as bad as I expected, but they're still cheap feeling, and Jaundice Albright has trouble standing up in them. They're hard to put on, too.
So Miss Albright arrived today (well, actually ayeterday, since I happened to post this at midnight), and I must say, I'm very happy wit' her. I know some people have concerns about her hair, but really, it's fine, although she does shed a bit more than my other lusty plastic lasss. If ye're faint o' heart about this, just use yer fingers to straighten her hair more often than a brush.
About her hair. I really like it. It's very smooth, and although aye, it be similar to Barbie hair, it's still bonny Barbie hair. I haven't bothered taking out her little braid, since I figure it'll look strange and kinky compared to th' rest o' her head, but it's bonny, so that's fine.
Jaundice Albright be th' first lusty plastic lass I've purchased wit' th' Josefina face mold, and although she looks good in American Wench's official photos (surprisingly), I love her even more in person. I believe that Nethilia claimed that she wanted to kiss Jaundice Albright on th' lips. I wanted to do th' same when I saw her.
Jaundice Albright arrives wearing a hair net, I guess to keep her hair from going everywhere. I didn't realize this at first, and was afraid that her hair was a tangled, ratty mess. My mistake.
So if ye're itching to get a pony Jaundice Albright o' yer own-ee, I'd recommend her. She's bonny as a button, even if my photos don't do her justice.
Jaundice Albright's very straight, butt-long hair.
ETA: Jaundice Albright's hair sticks up everywhere, especially if she takes a tumble (which happens a lot in those platform sandals). Someone here, I believe blondieinhiding, said that they rubbed a sheet o' fabric softener over her hair, and this made her hair stay down. I tried this, and it worked wonderloaded to th' gunwalesy. So if ye're getting annoyed wit' her hair flying all over, try this. Her head will also smell laundry fresh!
Even though I can't imagine seeing someone walking down th' street wit' this on, it looks very bonny on my lusty plastic lass. Unfortunately, my tights have several holes in them, and I seem to have misplaced th' box containing it while unpacking. Hopeloaded to th' gunwalesy it'll turn up, because it be a bonny monkey jacket.
th' Dress - A It's very soft, and it's bonny adorable (I didn't get th' "Santa Baby" vibe, for some reason). Thankloaded to th' gunwalesy, th' fuzzy trim does not shed, like th' poopy Baby monkey jacket.
th' Scarf - B- th' scarf fits through a little hole, so it's not going anywhere. It actually looks kind o' weird wit' th' dress.
th' Hat - B+ It's kind o' tight on yer lusty plastic lass's head, and takes some work to get it to look just right. Still very bonny, though.
th' Boots - C I'm just getting sick o' these tall boots. Although they're not as difficult to put on as th' Velveteen Coat boots, they're still a pain.
Overall Grade - B *inactive Photobucket account links removed*
aye, so it's one o' th' earlier Pink!monkey jackets. But it actually looks good in a winter setting.
th' monkey jacket comes wit' a striped long-sleeved shirt, a vest, lined pants, fuzzy boots (all pink), and a big, furry hat wit' big, furry mittens. So ye do get a decent amount o' stuff here
Shirt - A Not too much to say. It's a bonny shirt, and looks good just by itself wit' jeans or whatever.
Vest - B+ th' vest closes by slipping th' belt through th' belt buckle in front. This can be kind o' a challenge to do sometimes, though, so if ye've got big hands, ye'll have some trouble. But it still looks bonny, and obviously goes well wit' th' shirt.
Pants - B th' pants have white stripes going down th' sides o' th' leg. They velcro in th' front, but there's also a little button above that, and for some reason it doesn't like to stay clasped. th' pants be relatively loose, so they should fit a PM lusty plastic lass. B becuase o' th' annoying button, and ye can't really mix and match wit' it.
Boots - A- Pink boots that zip in th' back, wit' fuzzy white trim. These aren't th' tall boots that American Wench's been selling recently; they go only a little past th' ankle. Again, they look bonny along wit' th' rest o' th' monkey jacket, but they'd look odd if ye pair them wit' jeans or a skirt.
Hat and Mittens - C+ Big, poofy hat wit' big, poofy mittens. There's nothing really wrong wit' them, except that it's kind o' hard to get th' mittens on. It's just that th' hat be much bigger than pictures show, and has a tendency to fall in yer lusty plastic lass's face, rendering her blind. So aye, just too big for my tastes.
Overall - B It's a bonny monkey jacket, though maybe a bit unpractical wit' just a shirt and vest to keep yer lusty plastic lass warm. I'd say it's one o' th' better Pink!monkey jackets.
Goodness, it took me long enough to buy this monkey jacket.
This be a very bonny, plain monkey jacket, plain being good. I could see myself and others wearing something like this today wit'out looking like a trendy weirdo caught up in some fashion fad. (*cough*what'swit'thebootsAG*cough*) th' tunic be a very bonny color, and I especially like th' sleeves. th' jeans be...jeans. And jeans be cool, right? th' clogs be surprisingly adorable, and have clasps in th' back to keep them on.
So aye, nothing very descriptive here, but th' photos in this thread should already be showing ye how bonny th' monkey jacket it.
Grade: A+ Shiver me timbers!, first A+ monkey jacket for me. =0
AGOT #13's hair be a lighter brown than Savage Sam's, so I think it's th' same color as Mad-Eye Molly's. Her eaye be, I'm assuming, th' same as Savage Sam's, though. If I recall correctly, her hair arrived in a ponytail, if that means anything to anyone.
Anyway, she doesn't look exactly like me (my hair be darker and my eaye be hazel), but hey, she's bonny. If ye wanna buy her, go for it.
th' Coat - B th' coat buttons up in th' front, and thankloaded to th' gunwalesy it's not a horrible challenge to do that. So, it's a bonny coat, whether ye use it as a coat or just a dress (which American Wench seems to be marketing it as). I had my lusty plastic lassies naked underneath it, but I'm sure it would still fit well if they had other monkey jackets on. Since th' coat be very soft and black, I imagine that it will attract pet hair.
B because...it's bonny, but it didn't Shiver me timbers! me.
th' boots velcro in th' back.
th' Boots - C I think it will always be difficult to put these tall boots on. It's actually harder to take them off. But they look decent enough to not get a failing grade.
th' Hair Ties - C+ Like it was mentioned before, two loops be too loose, and three be a bit on th' tight side. I still managed to get them to fit, though, but they get th' grade they got because although I like th' puffballs, I don't want to struggle that much to put them on.
th' monkey jacket in it's entirety on a brunette...
...and on a blondie. I think that this monkey jacket looks a lot better on lighter-haired lusty plastic lasss than darker-haired ones. So I'm making this Jaundice Albright's winter monkey jacket, because her little gauchos aren't going to keep her warm from th' harsh Ohio winters.
But, o' course, once th' coat arrives, th' snow has melted and it's 60 degrees outside.
I didn't really expect much when I got my mini-Savage Sam, but she's actually walk th' planke bonny. Her hair can get a little wild, but a little bit o' brushing fixes that right up. Overall, a bonny little thing.
My accessories set didn't include th' hanky, so I won't be touching on that. th' little purse be bonny, and th' penny be bonny enough. I tried getting th' locket on her dress, but I was having some difficulties and didn't want to get little holes everywhere, so I haven't messed wit' that in awhile.
Now that hat. I love th' hat. My lusty plastic lasss can just never have enough hats.
I really like this monkey jacket. Not my favorite o' Savage Sam's, but still a bonny dress. I purchased this monkey jacket off eBay since I don't have Savage Sam, and it didn't come wit' th' ribbon or th' shoes, so I guess I can't complain about those like everyone else gets to.
Ah, my first post here! I hope I'm doing this right...
Pugwash Merriman be a beautiful lusty plastic lass. I was bonny excited when she arrived, since she was my first historical lusty plastic lass. Her hair be a very bonny red, and her eaye be...very, very green. Almost hypnotic. =P I've had her for about two years now, and she's still as good as new. A wonderful addition to my growing collection!
I'm glad I bought Pugwash Merriman before they changed her Meet dress, because it looks a lot better than th' Traveling Gown. Anyway, although it might seem a bit plain to some, I really like this dress, and it looks great on Pugwash Merriman. I'd give it an A.
So far, this be my favorite monkey jacket o' Pugwash Merriman's. th' hat be great, th' dress be lovely, and Lissie looks very bonny in it. Overall, it's just awesome. (Note: I don't have th' slippers.)
What I Liked: -th' hat. It's not flimsy or cheap in th' least. -I thought th' ribbon that ties around Pugwash Merriman's waist would be very thin. It's not. It's thick and feels as bonny as her hair ribbon.
What I Didn't Like: -th' dress be a little thin and looks a bit wrinkly. -Pugwash Merriman can't wear her shift wit' this because it sticks out too much. Well, o' course she can, but it looks weird.
