This is another favorite of mine from Kirsten's collection! It was already retired by the time I started collecting for Kirsten. I bought mine form another board member here. I do not have her original straw hat. This is the perfect summertime dress for a girl like Kirsten. I have found a couple off brand hats that are good replacements. The shoes and socks set is perfect if you get your doll second hand like I did. It was one of the first things I got for my Kirsten.

I love Kirsten's red boots! She wears them more than her black ones from her shoes and socks set or her off-brand white winter boots. They're one of my favorite pieces of her collection. Kirsten raccoon 1 by Elizabeth, on Flickr SailorMolly

I bought this set in 2009 after Kirsten's retirement was announced. I too have had problems with her fingers getting caught in the yarn. But now I carefully wad up the sleeves sort of like the PC instructions suggest. I haven't had any problems doing it that way. I haven't had any problems with the hat fitting right. Of all the AG dolls' dolls, Sari has to be my favorite. She is such a cute and cuddly little rag doll. Who couldn't love her. And she's a very important part of Kirsten's stories. She's a must have for any Kirsten collector. Kirsten with Sari by Elizabeth, on Flickr SailorMolly

That's mostly based on the outfit she was wearing when I bought her. She needs a new wig, but I don't want to send her to the hospital. I don't like the Mattel head for Kirsten. I love her PM face too much. SailorMolly

I have both. I got the PM one around 1994/95. It's nice that PC tried to make it the way Molly made her's in the book..... But it falls apart if you look at it funny. I knew my mom paid a lot of money for it and I had to take care of it. But every time I touched it one of the green paper stripes fell off. Eventually, I just packed it away and didn't touch it. The only part I really used was the sweater. Molly Lilo Stitch by Elizabeth, on Flickr I bought the Mattel version this year. It is MUCH more durable. I'm not afraid to use it. I'm considering buying a second Mattel one for Emily. If you want to sell one, sell the PM one. It goes for more on the secondary market. I don't think many survived playtime with them. Personally, I would hold on to it until Molly is retired THEN sell it. AG grass skirts by Elizabeth, on Flickr SailorMolly

My mom bought me my Mini Molly not long after the mini dolls first came out. I was never overly impressed with her. The mini dolls just don't do it for me. Not sure why.... Molly's glasses are a problem. They do not stay on AT ALL! I have no idea how I managed not to lose them. I've never had problems with her shoes falling off as others have said. But then again I've never even taken them off. Her sweater doesn't look quite right. And her curly braids bug me. She's NOT Kirsten! I'm glad I have her, but I doubt I'll be buying anymore mini dolls. B- Molly mini doll 1 by Elizabeth, on Flickr Molly mini doll 2 by Elizabeth, on Flickr SailorMolly

I bought this with my very first "paycheck" around 1996. (Long story.... I'd tell it but I don't want to anger Angry Jess. ) I've always loved this sleeping bag. It was the only piece of real AG bedding I had growing up. I don't have the bunk beds these were supposed to go on (although I always wanted them). But I do have a set of bunk beds that my dad made for me years ago. These make great blankets for any bed. Jacket & Cap Bold AG logos on the front and back of this purple varsity jacket tell the world that she's proud to be an American Girl. Comes with matching cap. $20 The original Jacket & Cap set is amazing! The jacket looks and feels like a real varsity jacket. The outside feels like wool. There are five snaps down the front and a patch with the American Girl name. The pockets are real. On the back the AG logo is embroidered on. The inside is lined with satin and quilted! I loved it so much when I got it that I wanted to get the girl sized version for myself. *makes mental note to check Ebay* The cap is also made of wool. There is an AG logo patch sewn on the front. In the back there is an adjustable strap. The details on both items are beautifully done. I highly recommend this set. I just bought this outfit off Ebay for Lanie... well most of it anyway. I'm missing the socks and one boot so I can't comment on those. This outfit is great for Lanie. Very outdoor appropriate. There's lots of mix and match possibilities with other outfits. The windbreaker is easy to get on and off, even with Lanie's curls. The shirt is very... BRIGHT... but I love it. It's just my style. The shorts are really cute. They even have real pockets on the sides. Lanie hiking outfit 1 by Elizabeth, on Flickr

I just recently bought this outfit. I wasn't sure if I wanted it at first.... But then I realized that almost all my dolly clothes were for like spring and summer. My girls needed some warm clothes so they could go out and play in the snow. Yes, a shirt and socks should have been included. But I just used some items I already had. I'm really glad I bought this. I don't like how it looks in the stock photos. In the photos it looks so big, bulky and stiff that Emily can't move at all. But it's not like that at all in real life. It's very soft and nowhere near as bulky looking. Lanie had no problem moving around in it as she played in the snow. My girls have been having a lot of fun with Emily's sled this winter. I got mine off Ebay for just under retail. I love everything about it except for the fact that the rope is too short. I wanted to take a picture of Kirsten pulling the sled while Molly sat on it, but that didn't work due to the short rope. Other than that it's awesome! I agree with Captain Syd about this not really being appropriate for a 10 year old. I wasn't sure I wanted it at first. But when it went on sale on Cyber Monday I decided to grab it. I'm glad I did. It's quite a bit nicer in person. But the bikini top still bugs me. I think it looks MUCH better with the cover up that michele made for me. Overall I give it a B. I just got this set the other day. I have to disagree with PleasantMemories for the most part. I had no problems what so ever getting the skates on my PM Molly with thick socks. I was a little worried that the blades might be plastic, but they're metal. Molly ice skating 2 by Elizabeth, on Flickr The earmuffs fit fine and look great on Molly. They also fit my cats just fine. The muff does seem a little thin. And a wrist cord would be handy.... But it's still really cute. I'm very happy with the set. A+

I got this set back in the mid '90s. My lamp no longer works. But it never gave off much light either. I've mainly used it for decoration. I remember actually filling the water bottle with water once. And I read the Nancy Drew book. My mom had read me some Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books as bedtime stories in the past so I was familiar with the characters. I was just disappointed that it wasn't the whole book. That wasn't one we had and I wanted to know how it ended. I never did find a copy. I seen a copy once, but my mom didn't have enough money that day. *makes mental note to look online* B SailorMolly

I got this for Christmas, just before it was retired. Whew, that was close!
I mainly wanted it for Molly's doll. From pictures I've seen I like the look of the Mattel nurse doll better than the PC one. But I would have rather had the PC snow globe. The Mattel one looks a bit too modern. More like the Christmas snow globes that I had growing up in the '80s, not the '40s.

Pleasant Company version I got a used, nearly complete set off Ebay not too long ago. I'd been dreaming of owning this tea set for over 15 years and was not disappointed. Everything feels very sturdy and durable even though it's made from China. I didn't get the napkins so I can't comment on those. Part of the red stripe on the tablecloth I received has bleed on to the white. So be careful if you ever want to wash it. It may come out pink!

I got this set during the Cyber Monday Sale. I can't wait to take Molly "camping" in the yard this spring. The mess kit has to be my favorite part. I was happily surprised that the newspaper can be read (with good eyes and a strong magnifying glass!) I didn't put it inside the sit-upon either. I wanted to leave it out so Molly could read it. Right now it's in her school bag.
