This outfit never made any sense to me with those thick warm slipper sockboots paired with a thin tee shirt and shorts, but I guess one does have air conditioning in the summers and heat in the winter that can make PJs a mix in terms of seasonal wear.
But I just stripped the "boots" from the outfit that I think makes a perfectly cute summer play outfit. I see lots of little girls in short shorts and tee, so it works for me. The shirt also works well under the Party Plaid dress. The color is just fine. I was thrilled to get this on sale. Makes a nice companion set with Saige's PJs which are also the short shorts type.

I didn't like this enough to buy it when it first came out or until now, when it has gone on sale. I chose the Perfect Plaid instead, that is now a PWP at some stores. I put together outfits similar to this one with the Bitty Baby cape and Like Yours Style Skort.
But now I have it Out of season and it feels "dated" to me. The boots are made of fabric, a little too stylized i the day when the Saige leather high boots are the in things. The cape, nice, but I think I like the knit ones better. This one is very nice wooly material and lined. Real buttons too. Nice versatile cream colord shirt and the skirt is twill which makes it all season. A surprise since I thought it would be a wool type fabric like the cape.
Mix and match potential is high. I'm not crazy about the boots and cape. Probably shouldn't have bought it, even on sale, but I did.

I'm being a hypocrite saying this dress isn't worth full price since I just paid that for it because I have a specific purpose for it. I am so saying because the pattern is very much the same as many sleeveless dresses out ther, and nothing special about the fabric either. Which I don't think is very festive, just plain old cotton blend that most every day dresses are. The embroidered ric rac is a bit of a special touch, but really, it's one of those dresses one sees by the hundreds on Ebay and on sale by off brand and homemade sellers. For $30, I wish AG had given it a little bit of something else.
Mine also had some threads that showed on the front placket, there is no attmept to match up the plaids, and the sash is sewed on. Shoes are navey sandals with a bow and a back strap, nothing that special but they do look nice. The barrette is nothing special either.
So why did I buy this dress? I wanted it for a specific doll and the colors are exactly what I wanted. I have a wrap sweater (Marisol's) that will go with it and a woven basket bag as well. So I bought it at full price with the sale items this month, and it will work well. The Sweet Heart PJs that I got on sale at the same time, have a top that is exactly the right shade of magenta to wear under the dress, and it is thin enough that it works. So the dress meets my wants precisely which is why I ordered it. Otherwise, I would wait for it to go on sale, and I think it will.

I want to make it clear that I bought these ONLY because I think they will be hard to find and expensive in the future. I don't care for them, I don't have a Molly or Emily. But I'm doing this review since I know some folks may be considering this purchase now that Molly's archival has been announced, and these are the PJS at AG for her.
First of all, they are truly 1940s style. AG does the homework for authenticity and it really shows in this piece. My MIL's reaction was that she had both PJS and slippers like those, very similar ones, and the whole look of the outfit old timey, in my opinion, unlike Emily's timeless PJs. They have a flat look to them that really bothers me and that is going to make it an issue in using the top as a modern day summer top, but that's the way they were made. Still can find some like this in some of the inexpensive stores here in NY, but not the comfy night wear I want personally.
Still, the PJs I got were not as coarse as the ones I had examined at AGPlace when they were first release.
If I had a Molly, I would have gotten them for certain. For collectors, it's a piece to get. For versatile use with other dolls, Ummm, I don't know, though I've seen them paired with the Bitty sailor looking short set and they do match, and They probably will work with the new blue pants that come with the green top.
One thing that I do NOT like about them is that I think AG was skimpy on fabric when making that top. You can see from the photos, that some of the amply stuffed Molly's have a tight fit in the top. Which for PJs makes no sense. It think just a wee bit more fabric t let the top look just a bit more smockish owuld have upped the quality of this piece tremendously. A fail on the part of AG , but given the timing and who it is for, it's not going to hurt the sales. It is very much a square wardrope piec. Well made, I have ot say in that there isn't a stray thread there and the stitching is as good as I've seen. They just should have cut the top with more allowance, and they chose not to do so.

I finally got these after passing them up a number of times last year as an add on item that doesn't increase the shipping. They went up $2 in price on 12/31/2012, and became unavailable at the AG-NYC, and were on back order when I finally decided I had to get them.
The pluses: They are a high rising boot as many are wearing this year, and are the perfect height for leggings. They go on easily with the velcro on the back making that task easier. A nice feature is that they are not black in color through and through with a whitish gray on the inside, which may help with staining issues, a concern when one puts on black boots. I did not use socks with them, though the fit would have still been there with thin ones, so they will be fine with tights.
The drawback with that light lining is that it does show on the seams of the boot and the boot does have a lot of seams. In fact, I considered coloring them in , and may still do so along some of them, but decided against it, particularly on the top rim, due the the fact that it may and likely would add to staining possiblities. Aaryana's photos show this very clearly. Also, for $16, I would have liked a differed material, something more like what was used for Saige's boots. These are made out of foam, .like the Bitty shoes and boots often are. For $16, I expected a better faux leather, something softer, and more realisitic. I'm going to look at what EBay has in this area and compare.
The Shoe Box that boots come in are cute.
I give this a C+. Fashionwise, the dolls needed black boots and that these are constructed to minimize staining chances, and the fit is good. I think AG could have used a better material for them, especially at that price and having seen what they have done with Caroline's red boots and Saige's Meet boots.

I,too, bought a pair of these, in fact two pairs. Though, it will take work, and the ends are unfinished, there is enough fabric at the end to make these into full length pants if one wishes. I 'm going to do that with one of mine. As opposed to the cream colored capris that are still being sold at the store, the ones that have the red and white sash, these are a snow white. I think they will make a nice mix and match item for my dolls.

Like Kris, I did not think I would like these PJs, as I am not a fan of satin. But I now have a Ruthie Grace, and these seem to be perfect for her, from the cut to the satin fabric to the ice pink color. My MG doll with Ruthie's wig has the perfect coloring for these PJs and I don't think there is another set of night wear that suits her better. I don't like the slipper one bit. AG could have done a little better on those--they remind me of Bitty Baby shoes. PJs ---A, Slippers--- D.

I bought this outfit specifically for my Marie Grace who is modern, and it makes her eyes really stand out. It is one of my favorite modern outfits that AG released this year. McKenna's rain boots would have looked so nice with this, but I did not get them. I like the outfit with boots; the shoes are nothing special and not what I'd expect to see on a girl this age with this outfit.
The neck of the sweater does take some playing with, but does work well. Love the skirt, and the leggings are what girls are wearing these days. The pieces have some very good mix and match possibilites. So I give the outfit an A-, with the minus due to the lack luster shoes.

For those who bought this set on CyberMonday, as i did, it is absolutely worth it and and more at $13! And I'm glad that food is stuck to the plate. I had one of these that was given to me when they first came out, but couldn't really use just one. I ordered two of them during the sale, and they make cute tray tables for my dolls while they are sitting on the floor playing. No fork with the set, but some cocktail forks from a set at Party City does just fine. One of the highlights of this year's CM sale, IMO.

She is my Clementine, and my first AG doll. I've never bonded with her and can't stick a story to her. She is the doll that gets the most attention, however with those striking green eyes. I tend to dress her in greens to accentuate them. She's an older doll who came in the red vinyl jumper meet outfit and is my heftiest and palest, distinctly different from newer classic mold dolls. She's claimed Addy's Christmas dress for this holiday season and will look stunning in it; last year she took MG's special dress.

I finally got this outfit and wish I had done so sooner. I think it is more an Emily outfit than Molly, however. It's a perfect holiday sweater that can be dressed up or down, and is particularly striking on the teal (MG) and hazel and green eyed girls. I think collar or dickey would make it more formal looking. A bit of scalloped would do just fine.

I've resisted buying this dress because the white overlay was a bit much for my taste, but now that I have it in hand, I really like it. It's a very pretty dress. I'm glad this review section is here because it let me know that the wrinkles are normal for this fabric, but a minute or two with the steamer took care of that. I'm sorry I did not get this sooner. I think the red heads, brunettes as well as the raven haired girls are going to look striking in this. That the hair band would not show up as well for the dark haired girls makes me wish it were red or green instead of black. But it goes well with the dress. The tights are nothing special.
The dress is an A in my opinion. I would say it needs dressy shoes, but with all the Ruthie shoes that go on sale on Cybermondays and Last Chance Sales, there's plenty of opportunity to pick up a pair for a reasonable price.

I just bought this doll from a board member, and it completes my collection of dolls specifically made for the historical dolls. I was not crazy about this doll from the onset, and did not have a Kit, so did not get her till now. But I give my Molly most Kit things, and with her aviator jacket, the doll fits her well.
For some reason, I did not expect the doll to be as big as she is. I wish she were an inch or so shorter. Also , yes, she is a very stiff doll even though she is the older version, and I got her second hand.
I give her a B, and only because that is a rather unique doll to have, it is part of the Kit story, and it does suit Molly as well. I would not have bought this doll for any of my dolls except it is part of the AG collection, however.

My mini Caroline came today, and I am just so thrilled. The pictures of her did not do her justice at all. Those light colored eyes are difficult to photograph. She is truly a very pretty doll. To give her those aquamarine eyes, they are painted a sea green on the bottom half and a blue on the upper part with white streaks to give the irises a translucent look. She has light feathered eyebrows just like the 183 inch Caroline. Her hair is same moonlight yellow blonde as well. I think she can use a touch more color on the lower lip and she'd be perfect. .
The dress is a sweet miniature of the big doll's outfit. Pantalets, socks and shoes come with her. The sash is a tiny bit of embroidered ribbon. I am delighted with the detail right down to the trim on the skirt and sleeves and the growth pleats.
She gets a 10 score from me. One of my favorite minis. I've not been thrilled with some of the new ones, particularly MG and Cécile. This one is worht getting. She also make a wonderful period doll for any number of the 18 inch dolls. I will be making a nice bonnet for her and a cape for the cold weater. I wish AG made like clothes for the minis, because I 'd love a full wardrobe for this one.

Rebecca's settee arrived last night and I just checked it out. It has to be returned because there is a very noticeable flaw in the upholstery. I hate returns and if there were anyway I could have fixed this, I'd have kept it.
I am mentioning this because for those on the fence about getting it, not only is it slated for retirement, but if you wait until the 11th hour and get a flawed piece, exchanging it might be an issue. I really wasn't hep on getting this item right now though it's been on my list forever, but I do want it for Caroline's Parlour scene, and the retirement would have put me in the situation of looking for it on Ebay with even fewer options if it is flawed. With AG, though it is still a pain for me, they will make good on the piece with an exchange while they have the item.

This is the best table for extra chairs! If you look at the reviews, though there are only pictures with 2 chairs, you can see that there is ample room for two more chairs. My dolls fit well there without getting tangled legs. I love Molly's wooden table, but 4 dolls around it means having to position those legs v-e-r-y carefully. Not so with Kit's table.

Stassy's photos are phenomenal as are his creations. MG at her best! I agree with Askmkids that there is a variance in the dolls, as in many dolls, but with MG it can make a bigger difference in her look as she does have some very distinctive characters which also make her difficult to photograph as lighting, positoning and angle make a bigger difference with her due to the fact that her face is not as perfectly symmetrical as the classic dolls. Picking the right MG could be more important than with other dolls. Mine was picked by AG for me, and I feel fortunate that I got one who looks straight ahead and has the broader face that I prefer. Her hair is also lighter looking than many of the AGS with no discernable red in there. She has enough blond strands in the front to actually give her a blond look.
I did not like her from AG photos and got her simply because she has a new face mold, but now I put her right up there as one of the beauties. Looks great in modern clothes and her hair is one of the best. Long, full and though straight with a bend, very styleable Extremely versatile in looks too. She can be from any era with that center part and those side curls can easily be pinned back or styled to give her a curly look around her face. Unique in the AG line for her hair, eye color and mold.

When i went to AGPlace while my niece was visiting, I had a chance to take a good look at some of the Cécile dolls there. It struck me immediately that there were two distinct looks, in terms of the faces. One Cécile definitely had eyes closer together than the other. I thought it was quite a striking difference. I did not look for differences in the hair curls. My Cécile has perfect well formed sausage links for curls. No neck gap at all but and a face very much like your first Cécile.

I have this dress and it really did not look as nice as the other holiday outfits that I have this past winter season. I tried it on a number of dolls and it just didn't have the pizzaz or substance that the other outfits, including Molly and Addy's holiday dresses had.
I think the color and fabric will be better for a spring dressy dress, and I am going to try it them. It just faded next to the purpley blue holiday 2010 MyAG dress, but I think will be fine with the lighter colored spring clothes.

I have wanted this outfit since I first got a peek at it. I went to AGP NYC today and bought it. I am very disappointed in it, and hope that I just got one that was returned or just not representative.
It is a cute outfit, no doubt about it. But mine was wrinkled more than I had expected. The neckline also seems to be stretched out. If it is not, then it really is too wide for the dolls. I had a lot of plans for this outfit so I hope that when I return it, that the blouse fits a lot better than this one. Right now I have to give the fit a "D", though the outfit look is an "A". All of my dolls except Addy would look so cute in this if it fit better.

I bought the dress because it was so popular especially among the target age group. I wanted it as a wardrobe piece that kids like and wear these days. It was on back order on line at the time, and there weren't all that many left at AGP in NYC.
This thread really gave me some great ideas on how to use the outfit on my dolls. As is, I felt like many, that the skirt was too short, the fabric too thin, needed tights since the hat and boots indicated that this is a cool weather outfit. I paired the outfit with the tights from the Socks and Tights set and used a lilac colored turtleneck top which I thought really pulled the outfit together. I want to get glasses to go with it. I like the long sleeved Tee but I think I'll use that for other mix and match outfits. I love Stassy's use of the gray capris without the shirt and that'll make it a nice warm weather outfit. For those who don't have meet capris, those gray capris are available at AG stores for only $5, the best deal in the place in terms of outfit pieces.
I give it an A-.

The heart shaped waffles, the 3 strawberries and the pink bowl of whipped cream are stuck to the white plate in that set. You might be able to remove them, The waffles would all be one clump if you do, and the edge of one waffle is attached to the strawberries which are also in a clump. With an exacto type knife the waffles and strawberries can be detached from each other without hurting the way they look, but the waffles cannot be separated without sacrificing some since they are not all whole. The whipped cream is glued to the bowl.

I think the dress is a true bright red not like the berry red of the Photographer;s jacket and other berry colored things that AG is selling in their souvenir ship. The silvery embroidery makes one want to make it a festive dress, but the material is truly T-shirt. It does look cute with leggings and a shell with the zipper down a bit. I pulled the waist tie a bit tighter to give it more shape. It's truly a cute outfit. The tie which is enclosed within the waistline of the dress give it a tshirt waist look and shape. The ruffles add a sweet touch. But it is truly a simple casual outfit with that zip front. I don't see it as a beach cover though it could serve as one; it would go with that ruffled two piece outfit that was on sale on Cyber Monday. But it isn't so roomy to scream housecoat, bathrobe or beach cover. I bought it though I don't think it was worth the $16 price tag. It would look cut with leggings, or on its own. It has a lot of mix and match potential with other AG store items. I have it on my doll with red shoes and head band that were in the summer set, and a pair of white tights.

I love this outfit. I bought it for full price back in spring of this year for my niece and have since bought several sets on sale for the doll sets I've donated and for my own dolls. I ordered the girl's jacket for myself as well when it was on sale on CyberMonday and is a favorite part of my own everyday wardrobe.
The color of the jacket looks wonderful with jeans, gray leggings and many of the AG Place souvenir items in that berry red. It is particularly cute with the berry/pink striped knit accessories and with the white eyelet sundress. The biggest problem with the jacket is that it is very tightly cut and short waisted, but that is also what makes it look as cute and fitted as it does. I leave it open for the dolls as well as for myself when a shirt is worn under it. I looks really sharp buttoned with no shirt but with a light scarf in the right colors. I give the jacket an A. The same with the pants and the shoes. The beret is also very nice, but I don't like it with the outfit.
As a complete outfit at full price, I have to give it a B for most people looking at it, because of the tight fit, lack of shirt or even a scarf, and because I don't think the beret goes well with the outfit. At the $15 price tag, it is a really good deal , in my opinion. One of AG's best for this year. I really like the outfit despite its faults, and it truly rates as one of my favorites for the dolls. It also looks a lot like what the young girls are all wearing around here with their jeans, leggings, boots. The color is a personal favorite. I wish I could get that exact shade for myself in other clothing items.

*Mod note: Outfit name is uncertain.
I went unexpectedly to AGP Manhattan today, so I did a little browsing. New at the souvenir shop is the above outfit. Very cute but pricey at $28, I believe they want. I have to go back on Tuesday and will bring a camera along to share this new item.
The hat resembles Lanie's from her Gardening set but is pink. The T shirt is a standard AG type T-shirt and the jeans look very standard. No shoes nor socks are included. It is an attractive outfit, but not a great value at that price, in my opinion. I have found that the souvenir items are pricey when they are put together as an outfit, costing about $30 and comparable to the regular, more substantial things in the catalogs, online and in the MyAG and historical sections in the store.

If you have Kit or are thinking of ever having her, I think this is a must have piece. I picked several up today at AG Place in NYC because of it is probably going to be retired and I do not want to have to hunt it down on Ebay. I picked one up for my niece for the future too. Neither of us have a Kit.
The typewriter looks wonderful on Kit's desk It really makes a wonderful display set. As everyone else says, the typewriter is a very nice AG piece. I think it is worth every bit of the $22 it cost. The accessories are so cute.
The red ribbon really makes it a festive piece. Brings back memories of the typewriter I got one year for Christmas. Since both my brother and I used our typewriters prolifically, this item is an AG piece that is probably the most representative of either of us. I wish I had kept an old non electric typewriter for myself.
Though sold out online/phone order, some stores still are carrying it. I left 4 on the shelf at the NYC store. If you have this item on your list, it is definitely worth getting now by calling individual stores.
