This is Miranda aka Randa. She is a Face D Sonali mold. She is light skin with freckles, light blue eyes, black bob with bangs. She has the new eyes but they do not bother me. Her right leg is slightly shorter than the left one although with some finagling I can get her to stand on her own. Randa is my STEM girl. 013 by Joan Pickering, on Flickr 003 by Joan Pickering, on Flickr 033 by Joan Pickering, on Flickr

Julie rings in the New Year in style with this groovy outfit she chose from her mom’s shop. It includes: A long flower-patterned top with puff sleeves, crochet trim down the center, and a stylish opening at the front A pair of matching flower-patterned shorts and pale-purple tights A hip pair of purple velvet platform shoes, the height of ’70s fashion!
I must admit when I first aw the outfit online, I thought "that is the ugliest outfit have ever seen." I ordered it only because I am a completest when it comes to Julie's clothes. It arrived and it is beginning to grow on me. I am saving it for Christmas. I like the tights and the velvety shoes. I do remember wearing similar outfits in the early seventies although mine were solid color or striped. Overall I give it a B-. I think AG could have chosen a prettier material for the top and bottoms. Also $32.00 is a bit high but as I said, I am a completest when it comes to Julie's clothes.

Anyone who knows me knows that Julie is special to me and why. I really love the mini Julies that I have. Version 1 and 2 along with the special edition from several years ago dressed in her holiday dress. When I saw the new special addition I was surprised in AG's choice of outfit for her but I knew I had to have her. Julie's hair is lovely and she has soft brown eyes. I am not a big fan of the head dress for either the 18inch outfit or the small one. I use them as wraps for their shoulders. The way her cute little stand is fashioned, Julie always looks as if she is in perpetual motion. I give her an A-. The minus is only because of AG's choice of outfit for her.

I ordered Julie's pajamas when they were released and I really like them. I did think the fringe was ugly when I first pulled hem out of the box but it has kind o grown on me.

My Julie uses these pieces with a lot more outfits than just her new meet outfit. With her colorful casual clothing pieces the bag and headband work especially well. Grade A.

The shorts, shoes and socks are very 1970s. I grew up during that period so I do remember...lol. The shirt is so cute! Not only does it work for the1970s but also for the 1980s and even today! The skateboard is cute but I don't think my Julie will use hers as much as she uses her bike and roller skates. All in all an A.

This item was released in 2015 and retired in 2017.
The height of summery '70s style, Julie will be ready for a sunny afternoon on Fisherman's Wharf with everything here: A tiered tie-back halter dress with bright colors and patchwork prints, A headband woven from different shades of purple and shimmery metallic threads, A chunky cuff bracelet, A long beaded necklace on a faux-leather cord, Strappy faux-leather sandals.
I may be in the minority but I really like this outfit. Some people think this dress is too mature for Julie but, she has a teenage sister and what pre-teen doesn't occasionally want to dress like an older sister? The colors seem softer to me in person than in AG's photos. The cute sandals, necklace and bracelet are the perfect accessories for the dress. All three also have a lot of mix and match possibilities with other outfits. If there is one piece that I am not so in love with, it is the headband. I have thought, considering the width and length of this piece, it could be used as a wrap for her shoulders. A- minus for the headband.

I really like this outfit as a whole and also for it's mix and match value. I have used the pants with a variety of Julie's tops. Everything from her original meet turtleneck to the tee with the peace sign from her new meet outfit. The yellow clogs are a hoot and almost every time I use her new yellow vest, I use the yellow clogs. A+

This is a really cute set for a 70s girl! I had a human sized set like this myself. The set includes:
A pretend hair dryer that makes "blower" sounds Two styling attachments for the hair dryer, just like the real thing Two rainbow hairbows—rainbows were "boss" in Julie's day
At $24.00 I think it is a bit pricey but I do think it is an essential set for Julie's era.

Although I feel the set is a bit pricey, it is a fun set. The spinning and flashing disco ball takes me back...LOL. The outfit is one of the cutest that AG has made for Julie with the boots, macramé belt and mini dress. The price C but the set A.

Meet Jeremy: Yes, he has a pink hearing aid but until AG introduces another color... He is a brown eyed classic mold and I love this spunky AG "boy" to pieces.

I know I have mentioned this before but I need to tell it again. I had been collecting Julie's clothes and accessories for awhile but I really didn't want Julie (or so I thought). Two years ago for our anniversary my (late) DH gifted me with Julie and I fell in love with her. DH made it so much fun because I would set the dolls up with their pets, toys, etc. and if I left the room...I would return to find everything switched around...LOL! The funniest thing was when I walked into our great room to find a human sized banana in Julie's bike basket...LOL! DH nicknamed her "Trouble" because he always claimed he had nothing to do with switching things around or the banana incident...LOL! I love her so much. DH pierced her ears for me in early 2011 and I added somelight freckles. ETA Photos:

I splurged for my birthday and ordered #56. I LOVE her! She has such lovely coloring and I adore her freckles and blue eyes. She looks great in anything I have dressed her in....the problem? I can not decide on a name for her. ETA her name is Josslyn Claire and to add a pic: *mod edit to fix broken image link*

I was asked to share some of my pictures of the "kids" design your own tee shirts: In addition to the designs shown here, the NY Store has an Innerstar U design. I don't have a camera right now, so I can not show a picture but I will describe the design. It is virtually identical to the innerstar U logo shown on the sweatshirt but larger. Pink with green U outlined in blue and white with a pink star outlined in white. Innerstar U is printed underneath in blue. I have two of the tees. One is long sleeve white with the InnerstarU design (for cooler weather) and one short sleeve white with the InnerstarU design for warmer weather.

This set was released in 2009 and retired in 2013.
This lemon-yellow kitchen table is just right for Mom’s apartment. Bold colors were popular in Julie’s day—this set has two matching swivel chairs with turquoise seat pads to brighten up the room.
I just recieved them as part of my "Christmas haul" a couple of days ago. I checked them over thoroughly and I am so pleased! They are made of a durable material and the yellow color is so period appropriate (yes, I was around in 1974 lol). The chair seats swivel and the table is extremely sturdy. I leaned Julie against the table and not only did it not move but it seemed height appropriate for a ten year old. Even my DH was impressed with the quality and durability!
I could not find the answer online or in the catalog as to what the table and chairs are made from so....I called AG. I spoke with CS rep Linda who looked up the answer. The table and chairs are mad from metal and plastic and the seat pads are made from vinyl. The plastic is heavy duty. I would totally recommend this set!

We have had this outfit for a while but haven't used the shorts much due to the unseasonably cold temps (snow again today). The shirt is wonderful and pairs well with jeans. The colors in the belt match the pink and blue design it yourself tees exclusive to the AG stores. The sandals are cute and go well with jeans as well. Overall I would rate it an A. Here is a picture of Jordyn in the outfit.

Jordyn (#24) loves the Calico Dress, Boots, and Tights but not so much the Scarf. She does however, like it as an occasional wrap. lol
Julie loves this outfit with or without the scarf!

Kit wore this nightie in the movie/DVD Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. Released in 2008, retired in 2015.
When the sun sets in Cincinnati, Kit dresses in this warm nightie, featuring stripe print and ruffles at the hem, cuffs, and yoke. It can be chilly in Kit’s attic bedroom, so she wears pink slippers to keep her toes warm. Girls can sweep Kit’s hair back with a pink satin headband, and then tuck her into bed for sweet dreams. This is a lovely striped long sleeved nightie. The perfect thing to keep Kit warm on those cold Cincinati, Ohio nights. There are ruffles at the hem, cuffs and yoke. The nightie hits Kit at mid calf and is really well made with the velcro closure in the back. Her matching pink slippers go on easily although I had a little trouble with her pink headband. It was a little tight but I was still able to get it on her. I would give this outfit an A.

As I posted earlier, I freckled Holly the same day she arrived. I lived with "freckled Holly" for two weeks and decided to remove her freckles today. I used window cleaner and q-tips. I was very careful to stay away from her blush and her eyes. The freckles came off fairly easily and she is back to her original self and my DH thinks she looks better without her freckles. I think so too.

As some of you know, I have been selling off most of my collection. My DH knew when I saw #32 how much I really wanted her. He arranged for me to get her! She arrived yesterday while I was out running errands. She is beautiful! Her hair is silky and I love the side part. She has clear blue eyes and I love the range of earrings she came with. 4 pairs of studs and three pairs of danglies. The book is okay. My DH and I looked through it together last night. One thing, I wished she had freckles, so last night I freckled her. We named her Holly. Sorry no pictures yet.
Her hair isn't real thick but it is playable. By that I mean, I enjoy brushing her hair and sweeping it up into a ponytail as well as pigtails. I am completely smitten and I think my DH is as well.
