Strange, I counted the number of strawberries in the picture shown with AGPT's Kirsten, where they show all items ever made by AG, and there were 12, BUT I counted mine with the set I have and I have 36, which were new in the bag...... mine are PM, could they have changed the number at some point?? I have 36 as well.

My Lindsey came to me naked, and before I was able to gather up most of her meet outfit she wore velour lounge pants that I made, with a sweater I had knitted. I like her in jeans and t-shirt, and then of course for Hanukkah she looks adorable in the Hanukkah outfit of "velvet" skirt and angora sweater.

Version III Just received my "free shipping order" that included the lunch. I had a lunch box just like this when I was a kid. The sandwich is cute, the napkins are great, but the glommed-together items are making me crazy. My grandchildren and I already made a pear, and separate carrot and celery sticks that look realistic so I may just make a cookie and put these away. But I won't make an Oreo cookie - nobody I knew ever had store-bought cookies! Our mums made oatmeal, peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies.

From Webster's Dictionary: A light kind of food, formerly made of flour or meal;
WordNet Dictionary: flummery - a bland custard or pudding especially of oatmeal
From Wikipedia: Flummery is a sweet soft pudding that is made from stewed fruit and thickened with cornstarch. Traditional British flummeries were, like porridge, often oatmeal-based and cooked to achieve a smooth and gelatinous texture; sugar and milk were typically added and occasionally orange flower water. The dish is typically bland in nature. The dish gained stature in the 17th century where it was prepared in elaborate moulds. The writer Bill Bryson described flummery as an early form of blancmange in his book "Made in America". The word also came to mean generally dishes made with milk, eggs and flour in the late seventeenth and during the nineteenth centuries
I certainly didn't know about the oatmeal!
When was this set introduced? Was Ms. Rowland still in charge? I'm guessing not, since the "flummery" so clearly is not authentic. No pun intended.

So for the beribboned hairstyle, is a length of ribbon just attached to the top of one braid section, and then braided with that section of hair? I've tried it, but then I'm not very good with hairstyles and it didn't turn out too well. But I didn't secure it at the top, so that probably makes a difference!

I am happy now with this outfit, but when it first came I was a little disappointed because to me, the housecoat doesn't feel cosy enough - and given that Minnesota winters are much like ours, you definitely need cosy! The sockor are great - no problem getting them on my Kirsten's feet. B+

I loved Lindsey when I first saw her in the catalogue, but I didn't think I'd ever get her. I'm so glad that I finally did! Mine is pre-loved, but she was in excellent condition - her hair is a different texture from my other dolls, but it seems quite natural to me. Like everyone else, I adore her blue eyes, and her freckles are very cute. Although Lindsey is a contemporary character, there is something about her that says "the fifties" to me. Her hair style reminds me of the flip that several of my girlfriends wore when we were in high school (graduated 1959, so that gives you an idea!). Although I don't want to set her back in that time, I do feel like giving her a circle skirt (my school didn't "do" poodles), and a sweater set!

I'd give this outfit a B+ - missing out on an A for these reasons: the VERY plastic "wooden" shoes (mine do go on over socks, although not Kirsten's meet socks); the awkward width of the neckline (doesn't lie properly under the apron's bib); and the printed design. Here's how the apron could have looked: *mod note: broken image links have been removed from throughout this thread* ETA modified shoes (sanded down with fine sandpaper to reduce the shine)

I am almost embarrassed at having paid eBay price for mine, but I am so happy to have it! I just love this set (as I love Felicity's Noah's Ark) - the little animals and accessories are beyond cute. A+

I just got this in today's mail, purchased from a board member. I just love it! The preceding reviews tell it all, but I just had to add my A+ rating. Just a suggestion - would the quill pen be easier to find (I know, it's hard to see!) if the tip had a touch of "ink"?

I give this an A. Kaya has tucked her target and shield, as well as her parfleche, onto the travois and that works very well. I don't think the travios is fragile - and I appreciate the realistic, wood-looking parts. I too thought Tatlo was rather large, but someone pointed out that after all, Kaya is a young girl, and huskies, etc. are very big dogs. I like his realistic appearance - I don't want my dolls' pets to look like stuffed toy animals!

B+ I love the outfit, but was a wee bit disappointed that the petticoat wasn't heavier - maybe something like flannel. I wasn't sure that this one would add much in the way of warmth.

Revised version (plastic)
A This piece is lovely, and elegant, and I'm perfectly happy with it. As far as being made of plastic - I've seen many violins and guitars whose finish is as shiny as this - the sounding board (is that the right term?) even has wood graining. I don't think it looks "obviously" plastic!

A+ I adore this set (it's the second one, without twisted handles). I even like the fact that the pot needs to be polished (I must remember not to use TOO much elbow grease!) It's the attention to detail that made me first fall in love with AG in the first place.

I got the saddle shoes in late 2007, and they fit beautifully, and look just like the saddle shoes I wore in junior high school! They look so cute with her meet outfit, and her school outfit. I'd say at least a B+. Oh, I couldn't get them on her feet until I remembered - and yes, there was a wad of tissue paper in the toe!

And yes, it might be a little low in the neckline for a girl Molly's age. I'm a little bewildered by this comment. This is very similar to bathing suits that I wore as a little girl (in the late 40s). Additionally, little girls often went completely topless until they were about 6! Since there was much less emphasis on children's bodies being a subject of unnatural interest, there was much less concern about keeping all covered up. Remember the Coppertone ads, with the little girl's bathing suit bottom being pulled down by the dog? I think this suit is very cute and very representative of the era.

I just got my Kirsten so I could finally try on my recent eBay purchase. I just love the dirndl outfit! The fabric feels wonderful, and while each piece is rather bland separately, when it is put together on Kirsten, it looks absolutely adorable! It fits my brand-new Kirsten perfectly - nothis too tight or too loose. The blouse is well-finished, and I like the full sleeves. I too would prefer if the vest really did lace up the front, but I can understand how easily the lacing could get lost. I'm willing to compromise when the results are this cute.

I got my set today (purchased on eBay) - I'm very happy with it for the price I paid ($20 US including shipping) but definitely don't think it should have been called an "outfit" when it's really just accessories, and therefore was overpriced by AG. But I love it - especially the mortar and pestle!

I have to agree - I love this item! I have found that if I wrap the doll very tightly in the hide wrap, I can wiggle her back into the cradleboard without undoing all the lacing. Sinew to tie it together? I don't think I got that! Since Kaya has so few things, it's very nice that they are so special "in person".

I got this for Christmas and I am very happy with it! Although I realize it would be possible to make the set fairly easily (cutting the two skin items out of fake fur, and making the pillow) I am still delighted to have it to add to my poor Kaya's tiny collection. The shield, of course, is not intended to be USED as a shield - as the description indicates, it is just to stand outside her tepee to identify who lives inside. My 4-year-old granddaughter was with me when I opened it, and she loved it too.
